Brief info

Dr. Arun Sunny is a native Floridian. He graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geography. He attended St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in West Bay, Cayman Islands where he earned his medical degree in 2019. Dr. Sunny trained in Internal medicine at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, serving as chief resident for one year. He continued his training at University of South Florida Morsani School of Medicine, where he completed his Infectious Disease and internal medicine fellowship. He was selected as chief infectious disease fellow during his last year of training.

Dr. Sunny is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Disease.

He is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Sunny joined Infectious Disease Associates of Tampa Bay in July 2024. He is currently enrolled in the MBA program at University of South Florida. His interests include antimicrobial stewardship and the care of the immunosuppressed patient. In addition to English, Dr. Sunny is fluent in Malayalam, and basic Spanish.
