Aundrea Sponsel is a native of the Tampa Bay area. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 9 years but, she decided to further her education and graduated from St. Petersburg College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. She began her career working on a medical surgical unit and has seven years of varied bedside nursing experience to include medical intensive care. She has also worked in home care and oncology infusion units.
Aundrea completed a master’s degree with honors from South University. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. She also belongs to the American Nurses Association (ANA), Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN), Florida Nurses Association and National Black Nurses Association (NBNA).
Currently, Aundrea specializes in wounds and infections with Restorix Health, where her responsibilities are centered on surgical wound management and assessment. She also focuses her time on infection control and prevention. Aundrea works with multiple disciplines to manage acute and chronic wound infections. Aundrea joined Infectious Disease Associates of Tampa Bay in 2019.
