Dr. Christian R. Gomez attended Universidad San Francisco de Quito School of Medicine in Quito, Ecuador, where he graduated Cum Laude and earned his medical degree in 2015. Dr. Gomez trained in Internal medicine at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. He continued his training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where he completed his Infectious Disease fellowship.
Dr. Gomez is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Disease. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Gomez joined Infectious Disease Associates of Tampa Bay in May 2026. His interests include antimicrobial stewardship, bloodstream infections, and the care of the immunocompromised patient. In addition to English, Dr. Gomez is fluent in Spanish and French.
