Traveler’s Clinic

Whether you’re traveling a short distance or across the world, international travel can expose you to unfamiliar health risks.

The International Traveler’s Clinic of Tampa Bay, part of Infectious Disease Associates of Tampa Bay (IDATB), is here to help you prepare for a safe, healthy journey.

Our team provides pre-travel counseling, recommended vaccinations, and post-travel evaluations – helping you stay protected abroad and on your return.

We offer the following vaccinations to protect you while you are abroad:

For more information on vaccines, please visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/current-vis/.

What to Expect During Your Traveler’s Clinic Visit

When you visit our clinic, you’ll meet with a trained medical professional who will:

  • Discuss health and safety issues based on your travel plans, destination, and duration of stay.
  • Provide preventive guidance for malaria, other insect-borne illnesses, and traveler’s diarrhea.
  • Write prescriptions for recommended medications, such as antimalarials and other preventive treatments.
  • Offer country-specific health information and documentation required for international entry.
  • Provide prompt evaluation and treatment upon your return if you experience any illness or infection.

Why Choose IDATB’s Traveler’s Medicine Clinic

  • Experienced Infectious Disease Specialists: Decades of expertise in travel medicine and global health.
  • Personalized Protection: Vaccine plans tailored to your itinerary and health background.
  • On-Site Immunizations: Most vaccines available during your appointment for convenience.

Post-Travel Support: Access to infectious disease evaluation if symptoms arise after returning home.

Ideally, schedule your pre-travel consultation 4–6 weeks before departure to allow vaccines and medications time to take effect.
